Bmw 2011
The new BMW 5 Series was scheduled to launch in 2010, 2011 or 2012. Now, it seems that 2011 is the most likely year for the release date.
BMW wants to change the V10 from the previous model with a turbo V8 which will be mounted on the 2011 BMW 5 Series. If everything goes according to plan, the new car will also be available in a hybrid version. The wheelbase will be modified, among other visible details. On a technical level, the 2011 BMW 5 Series will be equipped with a special night vision camera perfect for spotting pedestrians, sideview cameras and a head-up display.

Kia Optima GPS DVD Navigation Compatiblity Test

Kia Optima GPS DVD Navigation System is the object we will discuss this time.
Kia Optima

The Kia Optima is a mid-size four-door sedan manufactured by Kia Motors since 2000 and marketed globally through various nameplates. First generation cars were mostly marketed as the Optima, although the Kia Magentis name was used in Europe and Canada when sales began there in 2002. For the second generation models, Kia used the Kia Lotze name for the South Korean market, and the Magentis name globally, except in the United States and Malaysia where the Optima name was retained.

We have made a careful comparison between the size of KIA Carens DVD Player(QL-KIA962) and the size of Kia optima radio, so we believe the KIA Carens GPS are also compatible with Kia optima.

The Kia cee’d is a small family car released in the European market by the Korean manufacturer Kia Motors in December 2006, replacing Kia Cerato. Available as a five-door hatchback, three-door hatchback (“pro_cee’d”), and five-door estate (“cee’d SW”), with a choice of up to five engines (three petrol and two diesel), four trim levels (S, GS, LS, SR) and either manual or automatic transmissions.

The Cee’d was designed in Frankfurt, Germany (“in Europe for Europeans”) with Miklós Kovács leading the design team. Cars are manufactured in the Kia factory in Teplička nad Váhom, Slovakia.

The Kia Cee’d share its platform with the Hyundai i30.

Beginning in 2010 the Cee’d receives Kia’s new corporate grille, known as the Tiger Nose — as designed by Kia’s design chief, Peter Schreyer.

Hyundai Veloster with 155kW

A turbocharged version of the 2012 Hyundai Veloster that would go head-to-head with the Volkswagen Golf GTI could be unveiled later this month at the 2011 New York International Auto Show.

According to enthusiast website Hyundai-Blog, the Korean manufacturer’s all-new 1.6-litre T-GDI (turbocharged gasoline direct injection) four-cylinder engine will produce 155kW of power at 6000rpm and 264Nm of torque between 1600-5000rpm.

Those figures would give it the same power output as the 2.0-litre Golf GTI and 16Nm less torque. The standard Veloster will be powered by a naturally aspirated 1.6-litre GDI engine with 103kW and 167Nm.

An encouraging sign for performance fans is the weight of the atmo Veloster, which comes in at a tidy 1172kg. The three-door Golf GTI weighs 1360kg (188kg more than the Veloster), and accelerates from 0-100km/h in 7.2 seconds.

Hyundai-Blog says the 1.6 T-GDI engine would be available in the Veloster from 2012, and later added to the 2013 Hyundai ix30 and next-generation Kia cee’d ranges.

Hyundai Australia’s Stephen Howard said he had no information about a turbocharged version of the Hyundai Veloster, and could not confirm its appearance at New York.

Mr Howard said the standard Hyundai Veloster, which was confirmed for a local launch earlier this year, was on track to arrive in Australian showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Honda Begins Producing Cars in Argentina

http://hondaaccords.info/images/honda-accord-2.jpg

The Honda Motor Company officially unveiled a plant in South America that focuses on the production of compact cars for the national and international markets.

Since 2009, more and more pressure has been placed on Honda to supply cars to this market. Because of this fervent local and international demand, in 2010 the automobile industry in Argentina produced approximately 700,000 cars–40 percent more than in 2009. Most of the cars exported from Argentina are shipped to Brazil, and exports increased almost 40 percent last year as well. Before the factory was opened, Honda transported the cars it made in Brazilian and Mexican factories to meet the demand in Argentina. The company believes the plant will be a major player in the South American economy. In addition, almost two-thirds of the 20,000 cars that are produced by the factory from 2014 to 2015 will be shipped to other countries.

Cristina Fernandez, the Argentine President, said that this factory could help Honda increase its output. It has been speculated that Honda has spent $210 million on the plant already. Officials believe that the company plans to invest $40 million more by 2012, although an official number has not been confirmed by Honda.

Honda initially publicized its intentions to construct the factory almost three years ago but put off its opening because the company did not believe demand in South America was high enough, especially during the recent worldwide economic downturn. But the President of Argentina had been restricting the importation of automobiles to boost the local economy and protect its own manufacturing industries. Argentina’s automotive industry provides jobs to many blue-collar employees.

Currently, nine car manufacturers and suppliers have signed import-export contracts and have promised to augment their distribution of automobiles and car parts. Even Porsche, which does not participate in the automobile manufacturing industry in Argentina, will export other commodities in exchange for the cars it expects to import in 2011.

Although more than 3,000 cars made by BMW were sold in Argentina in 2010, the country’s limitations on imports have caused BMW to stop exporting cars to Argentina. The country’s crackdown on importation has been controversial. Perhaps as a reaction to Argentina’s importation restrictions on Brazil’s exported goods, Brazil, a major trading partner with Argentina, has also placed restrictions on imported vehicles. These two major South American economies are currently working to settle this clash in trade ideology.

New Nissan Leaf

Nissan_Leaf_ev.jpgNissan released the photos and details of its electric car, Leaf, which Nissan intends to put into production by 2010. The Nissan Leaf is a pure battery electric vehicle. It has its own distinct look with 4 doors and a hatchback. The pricing of the Leaf hasn’t been disclosed by Nissan but it will be affordable and will be a C segment car. It will be cheaper operating the electric Leaf when compared to a gasoline car. Many governments give incentives and rebates in the form of tax credits to purchase an electric car.
The new Nissan Leaf uses a laminate lithium-ion battery pack with an output of over 90 kilowatts. The car’s drive motor gives out 80 kilowatts of power which is equivalent to a car than runs on petrol. Nissan claims the Leaf has a mileage of 100 miles. The Leaf has regenerative braking and can recharge the batteries in 30 minutes to 80 per cent capacity with a quick charger. From a 200 volt socket it will take around 8 hours for a complete charge. Another innovative feature of the car is the onboard computer. Apart from the normal computing functions of an onboard computer, the computer is connected to a data center that receives diagnostic information from the car. It will also inform the driver of the local recharges stations. The Nissan Leaf will be originally built and sold in Japan, the United States and Europe.
